About Haydn
​Haydn Kay is a trained linguist, with an MA in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies from the University of Leeds as well as a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Liverpool. Haydn speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Aside from this, he is a passionate football fan, following his hometown Leeds United. This combination of languages and football drove Haydn to join 'El Chumbazo' as a writer.
Haydn has lived in France, becoming a viola regular watching Toulouse FC, and also in Spain, in the great footballing city of Madrid, seizing the opportunity to witness some spectacular football matches at the Bernabéu and Metrapolitano. He will take any opportunity to catch a football match while travelling, with personal favourites being l'OM at the Stade Vélodrome, watching Benfica at the Estádio Da Luz, and witnessing Real Madrid's unbelievable 3-1 comeback against PSG in the 21-22 season.
Combining work with football, Haydn has worked in fan liaison for Real Madrid fans attending the UCL final at Wembley Stadium, and regularly translates content for UEFA and FIFA.
